WFI Bamboo is a high-performance prefinished product manufactured with better raw materials and a higher level of quality control than the competition. It features rapidly-renewable materials assembled with a Low VOC adhesive.

In addition to classic bamboo configurations, WFI Bamboo is also available as a strandwoven product for a unqiue look and penultimate durability – twice the density and hardness of normal bamboo products (2800 Janka).

Sika brand adhesive systems bond both solid and engineered wood flooring directly to concrete, gypsum, plywood, or nearly any other stable substrate. In addition, these products have excellent sound dampening qualities and are compatible with radiant heat.

Sika brand adhesive systems are manufacturer-recommended for use with all brand wood flooring, and can help earn one LEED point for low-emitting materials (EQc4.1).

While regularly stocking an assortment of hardwood species, there are  23+ distinct exotic species available for custom orders, many of which have FSC certification- from Brazilian Cherry to Patagonian Ebony. The wood species are listed below:

Bolivian Rosewood – This dark and white chocolate-colored South American hardwood, commonly known as Morado or Ibiramoroti , is 53% harder than Red Oak. This dramatic exotic hardwood can be prepared with or without the cream-colored sapwood streaks.

Bolivian Soto – This exotic species from South America is one of the most durable hardwoods in the world. When first milled, Bolivian Soto is tannish-pink with pronounced brown stripes. Over time, however, the wood matures to a deep red with striking black stripes. This hardwood, commonly known as Quebracho or Axe-Breaker, is 210% harder than Red Oak.

Brazilian Maple – This creamy blonde-colored South American hardwood, more commonly known as Guatambu, Goiabao, or Pau Marfin, is 19% harder than Red Oak. This exotic hardwood exhibits a subtle, three-dimensional grain, making it a very unique product.

Patagonian Cherry – This exotic species from South America is one of the most durable and dimensionally stable hardwoods in the world. With time, Patagonian Cherry undergoes a slight color change from a rose color to a salmon color. This hardwood, commonly known as Kuruguay or Sirari, is 120% harder than Red Oak, and can be custom-stained to match any decór.

Patagonian Rosewood – This exotic species from South America is one of the most unique hardwoods in the world. When first milled, Patagonian Rosewood is a light gray color with pronounced black stripes. Over time, the wood matures to a reddish-brown with more subtle striping. This hardwood, commonly known as Curupay, is 120% harder than Red Oak.

Patagonian Walnut - This chocolate-colored South American hardwood, more commonly known as Lapacho, Tajibo or Ipe, is more than 185% harder than Red Oak, making it one of the most durable in the world. Patagonian Walnut has a natural resistance to fungi and wood-boring insects, and is sought-after for both high-end residential and commercial installations.

All of the tongue and groove (T&G) domestic flooring is available in multiple grades, from regional wood species, and manufactured to the highest standards. These products are ideal for LEED Certified and Green Building projects. Using our FSC certified domestics can contribute to points in the LEED certification of a building project (MRc7 and MRc5).

Black Walnut (Country Grade) – This N. American species has become one of the most popular choices for luxury homes across the United States . This species undergoes a medium degree of color change, lightening from a deep brown to a golden-brown over time. While this species is only 80% as hard as Oak, it is 26% more stable.

Hard Maple (1st Grade) – This N. American species is rapidly becoming the most popular cohoice for contemporary decór. This species undergoes a slight degree of color change by ambering over time.This species is very durable: 15% harder than Oak and 4% more stable.

Red Oak (Country Grade) – This N. American species is the gold-standard against which all other woods in the industry are compared. This classic hardwood can be prepared in select and rustic grades, in various dimensions, and can be custom-stained for a nominal charge to work with any décor.

Reclaimed hardwood products are environmentally responsible because they are manufactured from salvaged materials, and contain 100% recycled content. Using these reclaimed products can contribute to multiple LEED points in the certification of Green Building projects (MRc3 and MRc5).

Reclaimed wood flooring products have been air-drying for 100-200 years prior to kiln drying. This slow drying makes these products harder and more durable than their “new” counterparts which are harvested from standing timbers. These products also exhibit a rich patina that only time can create.

Heart Pine – Longleaf Pine is the wood that built America. This durable wood was the primary choice for construction when America was first colonized, from building ships to log cabins. JG Architectural Antique Heart Pine is #1 Grade for the utmost quality.

Rich golden-red hues are characteristic of the heartwood in this species, which contrasts slightly with cream colored sapwood. This product is as hard as Oak, making it a very durable choice.

Peroba (Brazilian Barnwood) - This beautiful species of Brazilian wood was commonly used in construction hundreds of years ago. However, generations of exploitation has made the Peroba scare, and it is now illegal to harvest in South America.

American Oak – This timeless species of wood will always be a part of American Heritage. Like Red Oak, it has been sought-after for its strength and durability.

Red and White oak both have a strong open grain, and a warm color pallet, which contrasts sharply with blackened halos around splits and old nail holes. This species can also exhibit worm holes, which often yields a more “rustic” looking floor.

Wormy Chestnut – This beautiful species of wood was once abundant in North America, but was dessimated by blight in the early 1900′s, nearly driving it to extinction.

Over the course of time, insects have bored through antique Chestnut timbers, leaving patterns of holes and scars on the wood. This makes Wormy Chestnut one of the most sought-after products for its rarity and rustic appeal.
